Each year, in the run-up to Christmas we will be donating 10% of our chalet booking income
to a charity or worthy organisation of our choice.
This applies to all direct bookings which stay with us between 1st November & 31st December.
The booker pays nothing extra on our advertised tariffs & there is no minimum stay.
This year's choice is Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team, 1 of our 2 local MRT's. Glencoe MRT
provide literally life-saving work to potentially anyone venturing into
the mountains or terrain in and around Glencoe & south Lochaber.
It's perhaps less know by the wider public that all mountain rescue teams in the UK are staffed and run completely on a voluntary basis by their members.
A 24 hour, 365 days a year professional emergency service is provided by unpaid volunteers,
who are prepared to give up their free & working time at any moment
to assist folk who get into trouble in our upland areas.
Glencoe Mountain Rescue was formed in 1961, with their current Rescue Centre located
at the entrance to Glencoe village being officially opened in 1999.
At this time the team responded to around 35 callouts a year and it would
have been hard to imagine how the number of rescues would increase
and the amount of rescue equipment would grow in the subsequent 25 years.
In 2023 alone Glencoe MRT attended over 90 rescues and it is no surprise that they have
now outgrown the existing Rescue Centre that has served them well for the last quarter century.
With the team becoming busier each year, and modern rescues becoming more complex & sustained, the result is that Glencoe MRT have outgrown their current Rescue Centre, and need to extend it to meet both current & future predicted needs.
You can read more detailed info on these demands & requirements
from Glencoe MRT's Crowdfunder page.
We hope you can enjoy a pre-Christmas break at Inchree Chalets this year,
and contribute to helping Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team.
Tariffs are at their most competitive over this time.
For tariffs, availability & booking, please use our website system
or feel free to contact us directly, at any time.
Thank you!
